How long do resin bound driveways last?
When professionally installed and well maintained, resin bound driveways can last for over 25 years. We give a 20-year warranty to our products and you can expect a longer life expectancy.
When installed correctly, resin bound is incredibly durable and resilient its renowned for being hard wearing and low maintenance especially when compared with tarmac & concrete. As there are no cracks or loose stones you won’t need to worry about weeds and stray stones..
What are aggregate blends?

Aggregate blends are mixtures of various types and sizes of aggregate (stones/gravel) that are combined with resin to create durable and versatile surfacing solution. These blends typically consist of aggregates such as quartz, granite, marble mixed with our Vuba Resin Binder.
Different sizes and colours are used which knit together and create compaction which is very important for durability especially for vehicle traffic.
How do you clean a resin bound driveway?
It’s very good practice to clean your Resin Bound surface regularly. And for lighter colours, it will be even more important to carry out regular cleaning. Resin Bound Surfaces can be power washed, it is recommended to have the lance at a 90 degree angle and at least 300mm from the surface. Cleaning too close can cause aggregates to be dislodged. click the link for Vuba's Aftercare guide.
How well does resin bound handle very high/freezing temperatures?
The product can fully freeze and thaw 100's of times without any impact on strength. Permeable pores are contained throughout the system, allowing frost and ice to be pushed out. This is one of the big advantages of the system.
Typically, how much would a driveway cost per sqm?
Should your driveway already be in good condition, a resin bound overlay would cost around £70-£110 per sqm.
If the removal of your existing driveway is required, installation of a new permeable sub-base, binder course & resin bound top surface, this would cost approximately £160-£220 per sqm. Locations, material fluctuations, edging patterns and borders can all have an impact on these prices.
How are resin bound driveways laid?
Preparation: We start by assessing your existing driveway,
depending on its condition it may require excavation.

We then prepare the ground to depth requirements dependant of specified traffic, creating a stable sub-base that will become the foundation of your resin driveway.
Incorporating an MOT Type 3 base to ensure full system permeability,

We then install a thin capping layer to fill any larger voids between the Type 3 surface, we then install the Vuba SRM which is a structural reinforcement mesh, developed using technology to reinforce earth structures. Vuba SRM can be applied within resin bound surfaces and on top of surfaces, such as concrete, to mitigate movement and subsequent reflective cracking.

we then install the binder course, this can be open grade tarmac, permeable concrete, or Our Absolute go to -Vubamac.
Vubamac is the only purpose made binder for resin bound systems.

usually follwed by one more layer of SRM-

The resin bound top coat - Surrey resin surfacing's skilled professionals will then trowel the resin bound mixture on top of the binder course layer using a mix of power floats and hand trowels for a smooth and even finish. This is done with great precision in order to achieve perfect results.
