ARE THERE ANY DOWNSIDES TO RESINBOUND DRIVEWAYS / SURFACES?

The initial cost of a resin bound surface can be higher than some traditional driveway materials. This is because a high-quality, fully permeable installation requires the correct construction, including a permeable sub-base and premium materials.

While the upfront investment may be greater, a professionally installed resin bound surface offers excellent durability, low maintenance and long-term value.

How Much Does A Resin Driveway Cost Roughly?

The cost of a resin bound surface depends on several factors, including the size of the area, the condition of the existing surface, the level of preparation required and the specification of the system being installed.

If your existing asphalt or concrete surface is structurally sound, a resin bound overlay is often the most cost-effective option.

Our premium overlay systems, incorporating a high-performance epoxy primer, reinforcement mesh and a UV-stable Vuba resin bound finish, typically range from £65–£120 per square metre + VAT. Depending on size of area. the larger the area, the cheaper it becomes as the equipment and team are already on site. a small installation typically reqires the same equipment and men as a large job

For projects requiring a complete reconstruction, our fully permeable SuDS-compliant resin bound systems typically range from £200–£240 per square metre + VAT. This includes full excavation, licensed waste removal, geotextile membrane, premium permeable sub-base, edging installation where required, a VubaMac permeable binder course and a premium Vuba resin bound top coat.

The final cost will also depend on the intended use of the surface. Pathways and patios designed for pedestrian traffic require a different specification from residential driveways, while commercial areas and heavy goods vehicle (HGV) traffic require a more robust construction and greater material depth. Additional features such as recessed manhole covers, recessed drainage channels, decorative borders and enhanced anti-slip finishes can also influence the overall price.

What Factors Affects The Cost To Install A Resin Driveway?

  • Size of the Driveway: The larger the area to be covered, the more material and labour will be required, but m2 would be charged at a lower rate. - A smaller area's Overall cost will be less, as its less materials but the m2 rate would be higher because its more expensive to buy base etc in smaller amounts and the same machinery etc is required as a large surface.

  • Type of Resin: Different types of resin have different price points with some being more expensive than others. For example, a UV-stable resin will cost more than a standard resin. (WE ONLY USE UV RESIN) The aggregate used in the top coat decorative blend can also adjust price slightly as all blends have different costs.

  • Surface Preparation: If the surface of the driveway is uneven or requires extensive preparation such as removing old pavement or levelling the ground, Tree Stumps etc this’ll add to the overall cost.

  • Additional Features: Additional features will add to the overall cost and this can include borders, edging or a specific Logo / Pattern.

  • Location: The cost of labour and materials can vary depending on location with prices being higher in Hard access areas compared to relatively easier access areas.
